Manfred Schneider (born October 9, 1941 in Schwerin ) is a former rower from the German Democratic Republic who won an Olympic bronze medal with an eighth in 1972 .

Manfred Schneider started at SG Dynamo Schwerin and then switched to coach Elmar Antony at SC Dynamo Berlin . In the 1960s, Schneider took third places several times at GDR championships in singles and doubles, and it was only relatively late in his career that Schneider switched to belt boats . At the Olympic Games in 1968 he finished seventh with the GDR eighth. In 1970 he won his first GDR championship title with the eighth. 1971 Antony put together a new foursome with helmsman : Harold Dimke as batsman, Manfred Schneider, Manfred Schmorde , Hartmut Schreiber and helmsman Dietmar Schwarz not only won the title at the GDR championships, but also took second place at the European championships in Copenhagen the German bull quad with Peter Berger on the beat.

Manfred Schneider is married to the rower Inge Schneider (née Gabriel). The trained boat builder later studied political science and worked in the finance department of the Dynamo sports association.
