Manfred Steiner (born December 24, 1942 in Augsburg ) is a German economist .

Life

After studying business administration at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich from 1966 to 1970, Manfred Steiner was from 1970 to 1976 first as a personal advisor to the then founding president Louis Perridon of the University of Augsburg and then as a research assistant / assistant at the chair for finance and banking active. In 1974 he received his PhD from the University of Augsburg with a thesis on the meaning and implications of learning and adaptation processes for corporate accounting. rer. pole. PhD . From 1994 to the winter semester of 2009/10, Steiner was Professor of Finance and Banking at the University of Augsburg, succeeding Louis Perridon. Marco Wilkens has held the chair for finance and banking since the 2010 summer semester.

Manfred Steiner is a specialist in the field of empirical capital market research , institutional finance and credit checks. Steiner made a significant contribution to the further development of a heavily institutionalized finance theory from the 1970s into a modern finance theory. Steiner became particularly well-known for his textbook Finanzwirtschaft der Unternehmen, which is now in its 17th edition.
