Manfred Tisal

Manfred Tisal (born September 23, 1953 in Villach , Carinthia ) is an Austrian cabaret artist , presenter, author and journalist. He was best known for his role as an “EU farmer” at the Villach Carnival , as a member of the Carinthian cabaret group Lei Drei and as an ORF employee. During his career he has received numerous awards.

Life

Tisal was born as the first child of Elfriede (accountant) and Anton Tisal (ÖBB employee). He has three younger siblings. Manfred Tisal grew up in Villach, where he completed his compulsory school years and an apprenticeship as a cook. He was a moderator and editor at the first private Austrian TV broadcaster Tele Uno , which was based in Italy, and a freelance editor for the Kleine Zeitung in Villach. Since 2000 he has been working as a freelance presenter, author and cabaret artist. From 2005 to 2017, Tisal presented morning pint programs on Radio Kärnten as a freelance ORF employee .

Tisal was a member of the Arnoldsteiner Municipal Council (independent list Arnoldstein = ULA)

Manfred Tisal is married, has four children and a grandfather of two. For many years he was president of the first KBCV (Carinthian Bowling Club Villach) and for over six years he was president of the Villacher Musikverein.

Villach Carnival

In 1990 Tisal took to the stage for the first time at the Villach Carnival , for which he subsequently also worked as a copywriter, co-director, minister and board member. Tisal was best known for its role as an EU farmer . A friendship arose from the engagement at the carnival, which led to the founding of the Carinthian cabaret group "Lei Drei". Together with the Villach carnival actors "Nachzipfer" Hannes Höbinger and "Noste" Manfred Obernosterer , Tisal toured throughout Austria for over a decade. With '"Lei Drei" Manfred Tisal also took part in the preliminary round for the Grand Prix of Folk Music .

With his solo appearances, laughter is healthy and laughter is the bowel movement of the soul , Tisal is on the road at home and abroad. He also writes books and commissioned poetry.

Posting affair

On November 17, 2017, Tisal announced the end of his career as a participant in Villach Carnival. The ORF had previously ended its collaboration with him. The reason was a controversial Facebook posting by Tisal about refugees. It led to investigations by the Klagenfurt public prosecutor's office against Tisal on suspicion of hate speech.

After the end of his work for the ORF, Tisal moderated several election campaign events of the FPÖ .

The Carnival role as EU farmers and EU farmer took Tanja Karl , but already on 13 January 2018 - withdrew because of differences of opinion with the leaders of Faschingsgilde - only eight days after the premiere of the program. The program council, in which Manfred Tisal also sits, had not approved the proposed changes to the text, which was also written by Manfred Tisal.

Awards

On November 19, 2011 Tisal received the Fool's Fountain Prize from the Ettlingen Carnival Guild. The laudation was given by Clemens Aigner , member of the Villacher Beer Board at the time .
