Fool's Well Prize
The fool's fountain prize is an award given annually by the fool's guild Ettlingen in the city of Ettlingen , Baden-Württemberg . The prize was donated on the occasion of the inauguration of the faithfully reproduced fountain of fools on November 9, 1963. The prize is for “Carnivalists or associations who have made special contributions to Carnival and Carnival customs”. The award ceremony takes place in the Asamaal of Ettlingen Castle . The laudation is given by well-known personalities such as Max Güde (1963), Horst Ehmke (1966), Helmut Kohl (1974), Manfred Rommel (1979) and Rainer Brüderle (2005).
The award is compared in carnival circles with the highest film awards Oscar and Bambi and described as "highly regarded" and "renowned".
For the 20th anniversary in 1982, the Narrenbrunnenpreis was honored with a stamp from the special post office of the city of Ettlingen.
