Ernst-Jürgen Dietz (* 15. August 1941 in Mainz , † 7. February 2015 ) was a German entrepreneur and Fastnachts - Büttenredner , was his most famous character "The messenger of the Bundestag". In real life he was a trained businessman and managing director of two medical technology companies in Mainz and Erfurt .

Dietz appeared for the first time in 1978 as “Simplicius Simplicissimus” in the Mainz Carnival television session. Mainz remains Mainz as it sings and laughs . After changing roles every year, he decided in 1987 to play the “messenger from the Bundestag”. In this role he took the events in political Germany under the carnival microscope. Dietz was vice president and thus a member of the executive board and committee of the Mainz Carneval Association . He died on February 7, 2015 of complications from a tumor disease.
