action

Michael, his wife Margaret, and their daughter Debbie pass a remote house on their way on vacation. There they are received by Torgo, a satyr who does not seem to be very pleased about the presence of the strangers. Still, the family stays overnight. When a loud howl is heard, her dog runs away and is found dead a short time later. Margaret wants to leave, but the car does not start. While Michael tries to get it to work, Margaret is harassed by Torgo. Debbie runs away and is found a short time later by her parents with a large dog. She leads Michael and Margaret to a ritual place where "the master" of Torgo sleeps on an altar and a group of women stand on pillars, apparently unconscious. The family goes back to the house. Torgo demands a wife for himself from the sleeping master at the ritual place. While Margaret stays in the house with Debbie, Michael is knocked out by Torgo. Master and his wives awaken and there is a discussion about what to do with the visitors. While the master holds Torgo accountable for his appetites, a fight breaks out between the women. The master finishes this, has a resistant woman tied to a pillar and performs a sacrificial ritual with Torgo's hand, who escapes into the night. Michael has now woken up and is walking into the wild with Margaret and Debbie. The master and his wives begin the search for the visitors. These return to the house, as they suspect the residents are gone. There, however, they meet the master, who approaches them, apparently unimpressed by Michael's pistol shots. On another day two young women pass the house and are greeted by Michael, who has taken the role of Torgos as a servant. Margaret and Debbie are now Master's followers.

criticism

“If the film didn't have such unbearable lengths, then it could certainly be recommended to real trash fans. The endless scenes in which almost nothing really happens make it so boring that even hard-boiled friends of bad films should find it difficult to enjoy this unprofessionalism. "

“Anyone who has seen Manos [...] and then in all seriousness and in full possession of their intellectual capacities (which should then no longer be particularly great, hehe) claims that Plan 9 or any other Eddie Wood product is worse, do me sorry, there is no more help. [...] Manos is actually by far (and by far) the most unbearable, technically poorest, most intellectually offensive and devastatingly played 'film' that I have ever had the pleasure to watch. "

In the television series How I Met Your Mother and Elementary , Manos: The Hands of Destiny is described as the worst movie of all time.
