Manuel Wallner (born October 25, 1988 in Klagenfurt ) is an Austrian football player .

Career

Born in Carinthia, he began his football career at the age of seven at Klagenfurt AC . At the age of nine he switched to the youth team of FC Kärnten , graduated from the club's youth academy and made it into the professional squad through the amateur team in the regional league.

Wallner made his debut in the first division on August 31, 2007 at the age of 18 against SC-ESV Parndorf . In the summer of 2008, the central defender moved to SV Grödig , where he held a regular place in the first division in the 2008/09 season. On July 1, 2009, FK Austria Wien announced the commitment of Manuel Wallner, he signed a contract until summer 2011 plus an option for a further year. Wallner made his debut in the top Austrian league on August 29, 2010 against Wacker Innsbruck when he played through.

In summer 2012 he moved to SC Wiener Neustadt . In 2014 he moved to the regional league team SK Austria Klagenfurt , with whom he rose to professional football in 2015. After he was relegated to the Regionalliga again with Austria, he ended his professional career and returned to his youth club Klagenfurt AC in order to concentrate on his job as a police officer.

Manuel Wallner played a total of 5 times for the Austrian U21 national team .
