The Manyas Çayı (also Kocaçay or Madra Deresi ) is a left tributary of the Simav Çayı in northwestern Turkey . The Manyas Çayı is the ancient river Tarsios (Latinized Tarsius ).
The Manyas Çayı rises in the Kocadağ mountain range in the west of the Balıkesir province . The river passes the İvrindi District Administrative Center . Further to the northeast, the Manyas Çayı is dammed by the Manyas Dam . The river continues its course to the northeast below the dam. It flows 2 km north of the city of Manyas and flows into the southern shore of the Manyas Gölü . He drains this on its southeast bank. The Manyas Çayı flows in a north-easterly direction and finally flows north of Karacabey into the Simav Çayı, which flows north.
