The Mape-See ( English Lake Mape or Mape Lake ) is a lake or lagoon in the Southern Province in the West African Sierra Leone . With an area of ​​27.5 square kilometers, it is the largest lake in the country . According to other sources, it is around 50 km² at low tide and up to 85 km² at high tide. The lake is a maximum of 17 kilometers long and 5 kilometers wide.

Mape is about 14.5 kilometers long and up to 2.5 kilometers wide. The lake is only about 1.2 kilometers from the coast to the Atlantic . Almost six kilometers to the northeast, Lake Mabesi, is the country's second largest lake. Both lakes are filled with brackish water.

The lake is proposed as a national park .
