María Sánchez Lorenzo (born November 7, 1977 in Salamanca ) is a former Spanish tennis player .
Career
María Sánchez Lorenzo was introduced to tennis by her father at the age of eight. Her greatest success in Grand Slam tournaments was reaching the round of 16 in the women's singles at the Australian Open in 1999.
Between 1995 and 2006 she played ten games (3 wins) for the Spanish Fed Cup team and represented Spain at the 2004 Olympic Games . In 2004 , 2005 and 2006 she played for TC Zamek Benrath in the German tennis Bundesliga .
