The vehicle can be transported by air with tactical transport aircraft and heavy transport helicopters .
The vehicle can carry various weapons and protection systems such as light and medium-weight machine guns , automatic grenade weapons and smoke-throwing systems as well as systems for guidance and monitoring. The vehicle can also be equipped as a mortar carrier .
The Marauder is protected against booby traps and mines up to 8 kg TNT according to STANAG 4569 protection class 3b under the entire vehicle, up to 14 kg TNT and thus higher than according to STANAG 4569 protection class 4a when blasted under a wheel. The transport space is against blasts up to 50 kg IED Protected according to STANAG 4569. The armor can also be extended to protection class 4 against RPG fire.
The Marauder is u. a. comparable to the German ATF Dingo .
Presentation in Top Gear
In June 2011, the civil version of the Marauder was presented in the British motor magazine Top Gear . Richard Hammond checked his "suitability for everyday use" in a fast food drive-through restaurant, by driving off-road and by running over cars. The Marauder and a Hummer H3 were then blown up by 3 kg of plastic explosives in the rear of the vehicle in order to prove the safety of the Marauder as a protected vehicle. The unarmoured Hummer was completely destroyed by the explosion, while the Marauder was ready to drive and could continue with a tire failure.
