The Marble Peak (English for marble tip ) is a mountain on the southern edge of the Ross Ice Shelf . On the Amundsen coast, it rises 3 km southeast of O'Brien Peak , halfway between the Amundsen and Scott glaciers .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964. The name was given by participants in a campaign carried out from 1969 to 1970 as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition . It is named after the banding made of light marble on the top of the mountain.
