Marc Baecke (born July 24, 1956 in Sint-Niklaas ; † January 21, 2017 in Beveren ) was a Belgian football player .

Player career

Baecke began his career in 1976 at KSK Beveren . In Beveren he won the Belgian championship twice, the Belgian Cup twice and the Belgian Supercup twice . After ten years at KSK, he moved to KV Kortrijk in 1986 , where he played for another year and then ended his career.

Internationally he played 15 times for Belgium. He took part in the 1982 World Cup in Spain (from the second group phase) and the 1984 European Championships in France (from the group phase).

After infection of a wound, his left leg had to be amputated in 2013. His wife died in early 2016. Marc Baecke died on January 21, 2017 after a long illness at the age of 60.
