Marc Domingo Sieber (born February 29, 1988 in Straubing ) is a German tennis player

Career

Marc Sieber was three times German champion in singles and twice German champion in doubles.

In 2008 he was ranked number 1 in the German U21 rankings. In 2011 he played for Bremerhaven TV 1905 in the 2nd Bundesliga . From 2009 to 2010 he played for the Munich club TC Großhesselohe also in the 2nd Bundesliga. His very first club was the TC Rot-Weiß Straubing . He won his very first match in a main draw of an ITF Future Tour tournament in 2006. He won his first tournament on this tour in 2008 in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina , which was endowed with $ 15,000. At that time he entered the top 400 in the world for the first time. In 2009 he won two more futures singles and held his position.

In 2011 Marc Sieber won three futures tournaments endowed with 10,000 US dollars in Poreč, Trier and Kenn as well as two of the three largest Lower Bavarian tournaments, the Aidenbach Open and the VR Bank Cup in Landau an der Isar. He won the Troiber Cup in Hofkirchen in 2010. In 2012 he won the Troiber Cup a second time. With the Bremerhaven TV 1905, he was promoted to the first division as champions of the second division. In 2013 Marc Sieber won the 30th Kalkan Cup in Aschaffenburg and was Saxon champion at the Leipzig Open . For the Bremerhaven TV in 1905 he played his first year in the first tennis Bundesliga . As the penultimate, the team rose again to the 2nd division. During this time Sieber lost some points and dropped out of the top 500.

In 2016 he won another future tournament. A total of six times he was successful in a tournament of this category in Turkey and rose sharply in the world rankings. With the Bremerhaven TV in 1905, he was again promoted to champion of the second Bundesliga. In 2017 Sieber won one of his last titles on the Future Tour and reached 236, his highest position in the ATP world rankings. He moved from Bremerhaven TV to WTHC Wiesbaden . As a result, he was able to take part in tournaments on the ATP Challenger Tour more often for the only time in his career , but not assert himself decisively there. He was five times in the quarter-finals of a challenger, he never got beyond - most recently in 2017 in Ortisei .

In 2018 Marc Sieber won the Austrian Men's State Championship with the ATV Irdning . At the end of the year, at the age of 30, he retired as a professional tennis player. In his career he achieved a total of 13 single and 6 double titles in futures.

In 2019 he played for WTHC Wiesbaden in the 2nd Bundesliga and became Austrian champion for the second time with ATV Irdning. In 2019 he founded a tennis school in Straubing.
