Marcel Klefenz (born April 20, 1986 in Heidelberg ) is a German soccer player . Most recently, the 1.90 m tall central defender was under contract with VfR Aalen .
Career
Klefenz started playing football at SC 08 Reilingen . Through the junior teams of SV Sandhausen and Karlsruher SC , he came to the U19 of SC Freiburg in summer 2003 . After he outgrown the junior age, he played for the club's second team in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg . In 2007 he moved to league competitor TSG 1899 Hoffenheim II , where he played until 2009 and played a total of 64 league games in which he scored two goals.
For the 2009/10 season he moved to the regional division VfR Aalen . With his consistently strong performances, the central defender Marcel Klefenz, as a regular at the side of Aytaç Sulu, made a significant contribution to VfR Aalen becoming champions of the Regionalliga Süd with only 19 goals conceded at the end of the season and being promoted to the 3rd division , which also won Association the WFV Cup . Because of a hairline crack in the metatarsal bone, Klefenz fell out for a long time from May 2010; after playing a few games again in August, he suffered the same injury again. Before he was able to make his comeback again, he was diagnosed with cartilage damage in his knee in February 2011. Because of the long rehabilitation period after the necessary cartilage transplant, Klefenz also missed the entire following season 2011/12; thus he was officially in the squad of the team that reached promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga this season , but did not play a single game. His expiring contract was automatically extended by another year through the promotion. For the 2012/13 season Klefenz got back into training in the second team of VfR Aalen, but was neither there nor in the first team during the season. His expiring contract was not renewed, Klefenz has been without a club since then.

Since the end of his football career, Klefenz has been involved in social media and has increasingly appeared as a photo model and Instagram blogger. He currently has a following of well over 1000 followers.
