Marcel Schwehr

Marcel Schwehr (born December 4, 1966 in Endingen am Kaiserstuhl ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg from 2006 to 2016 .

Life and work

Marcel Schwehr attended elementary school and secondary school with a secondary school leaving certificate in his place of birth, Endingen. From 1983 to 1986 there followed an apprenticeship as a printer at the Wild company. After completing an apprenticeship as a printer, Schwehr worked at the Kniebühler printing company until 1989. He then completed further training as an industrial clerk at Verlag Stückle.

In 1992 he worked for the then MP Rainer Haungs for nine months and then worked in various positions in the banking industry. From 1999 to 2001, he completed further training as a finance and building society savings advisor at the Sparkassenakademie. He has been the district manager of the Sparkasse at the Landesbausparkasse (LBS) Baden-Württemberg since 1999 .

He is married and has two children.

Marcel Schwehr became a member of the Junge Union and the CDU parent party in 1982 and is a member of the Emmendingen district association . Within the party he is a member of the CDU's middle class association .

In the Junge Union he was chairman in Endingen / Nördlicher Kaiserstuhl from 1983 to 1990 and district chairman in Emmendingen from 1987 to 1990. From 1989 to 2005 he was chairman of the CDU in Endingen and since 1993 deputy district chairman. In Endingen he has also been a member of the town council since 1989 and has been parliamentary group leader of his party since 1999. In 1994 he became a member of the district council and the association assembly of the Southern Upper Rhine.

Since April 10, 2006, Schwehr was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg . He moved into the state parliament via constituency 49 (Emmendingen) . There he sat for his group from 2006 to 2011 in the economic committee and in the petitions committee. In the state elections in Baden-Württemberg in 2016 , however, he lost the direct mandate to Alexander Schoch from the GREEN; as his percentage result in the second count was below that of most of the other CDU constituency candidates in Baden-Württemberg, he missed re-entry into the state parliament.
