Marcel van de Beeten
Marcel van de beds ( MEC , * 2. May 1959 in Veghel ) is a Dutch jazz guitarist and singer-songwriter .
Van de Beeten learned to play the guitar autodidactically and has composed more than 300 songs since he was fourteen. Under the name MEC he released his debut album Do Your Thing with bassist Ivo Severijns , drummers Don Heijne and Frank Zonjee , keyboardist Robert Pijnenburg and percussionist Nippy Noya .
With Bert van den Brink and the former Blowbeat members René Creemers and Pieter Douma , he recorded his second album as a band leader: Break the Seal . From this formation the Van-de-Beeten-Band arose with the keyboardist Maarten Helsloot . With this he recorded the album Greaterland .
As a sideman, van de Beeten has worked on more than 80 albums, including a. with Patty Trossel , Bert van den Brink, Wim de Vries and Michiel Braams Wurli Trio .
