Marcello is a German rapper and producer from Berlin-Mitte .

biography

Marcello, born in East Berlin in the 1980s, has reportedly been producing his own beats since 1996 . Stylistically his music can be assigned to Conscious Rap , inspired by French rap groups like IAM (band) . Back then, he came into contact with the culture through hip-hop jams and started producing and freestyle music with friends. Together with V-Mann and DJ V-Räter , he forms the hip-hop formation Stiftung Reimetest . Together with a few other rappers, the Funkviertel collective came into being shortly before the turn of the millennium . He was also active with cyphers such as B. the one in the youth club “Königstadt” and rap on Wednesday in a basement room of the Berlin ufaFabrik. In 2001 he presented the freestyle stage with Mc Gauner at the 2001 HipHop Summer School at the Berlin Volksbühne. As a result, Marcello worked a lot with French rappers before he released his debut album Innercity Kinder on November 14, 2003 via MKZWO Records . The album was distributed on CD and double LP by Groove Attack . As a result, Marcello mainly worked as a producer. He was responsible for beats on albums by Damion Davis , Hiob and Morlockk Dilemma . In the summer of 2008, Marcello hit the headlines because he auctioned his body to the highest bidder via the Ebums Internet auction house . According to his own statement, he did this to earn money for a record printing of the album ACAB and described the action as a PR stunt. However, no one accepted the offer. In March 2009 Musique Sentiment 2.0 was released , again as a free download. The successor contained elements of hip-hop , rock , electro , classical and jazz . Marcello released the free mixtape Party, Parks and Pornos (2009) under the synonym "Stuntman Mike". In November 2010 Marcello released the instrumental EP Whispered Silence , which consisted of six instrumental versions . In 2011 he released the Ein Fenster zur Straße - EP together with the rapper Absztrakkt , which is considered his last rap release. The title "Augenlieder" was released as a video single. Marcello is still sporadically active as a mixer and instrument producer.

Currently Marcello lives in Berlin's Mitte . He also produced film music and background music for DVD productions.
