Hiob (* 1981 in Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg as Julius Endler ) is a German rapper who has been active since the mid-1990s and is currently under contract with the Berlin independent label Spoken View . Until 2008 he called himself V-Mann , and he is also known as a beat producer under the pseudonym Hieronymuz .

Life

Julius Endler is the son of the writer Adolf Endler and half-brother of the musician and author Konrad Endler .

As a 13-year-old, Job took part in the street socializing project "HipHop-Mobil" in 1994, after having mainly listened to Gabber and Jump Up . Here he wrote his first own texts with the support of the Berlin rapper Rebel One. He came into contact with the graffiti scene and at some point began to distribute his own mixtapes to friends. From 1998 he recorded the first songs as a "V-Mann" and began to produce his own instrumentals at the same time. Together with Marcello, Sir Serch and DJ V-Raeter, he founded the tape label Funkviertel the following year, through which his first demo tape Pizza and Porn was published. The Ill-Scripts -Tape with Sir Serch was also released on Funkviertel in 2001 , followed by contributions on various mixtapes, compilations, etc. In 2004 Fragments was published, the revised version was released on CD in 2006 via HipHopVinyl and was Spoken in December 2012 on the Berlin label View released on vinyl. In addition to his close collaboration with Morlockk Dilemma , his second solo album Drama Konkret followed in 2011 , which was also released as a double LP . Job was described by the Bavarian radio station On3 in the record review for his album Drama Konkret as "one of the best rappers in Germany". In 2013 he was together with Morlockk Dilemma, Audio88 & Yassin and the Dj-Duo Ecke Prenz in the live formation Die Bestesten . In 2014 he founded the record label Mofo Airlines together with Morlockk Dilemma, on which the last solo album "Abgesänge" was released in November 2018.

In his opinion, Job is mainly influenced by Big L , Wu-Tang Clan , DJ Premier and the Tony Touch productions of the 1990s. Just like the rap music from New York, Job's productions are based on samples . He mainly uses rare production music as well as soul and funk .
