Marcelo Arturo González Amador (born January 16, 1956 in Placetas ) is Bishop of Santa Clara .

Life

Marcelo Arturo González Amador was ordained a priest on December 18, 1983 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Segia and auxiliary bishop in Santa Clara on October 31, 1998 .

The bishop of Santa Clara, Fernando Ramon Prego Casal , donated him episcopal ordination on December 20 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Beniamino Stella , Apostolic Nuncio to Cuba , and Pedro Claro Meurice Estiu , Archbishop of Santiago de Cuba .

He was named bishop of Santa Clara on June 4, 1999, and was installed in office on July 18 of the same year.
