Fernando Ramon Prego Casal

Fernando Ramon Prego Casal (born November 7, 1927 , † January 9, 1999 ) was a Cuban clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Santa Clara .

Life

Fernando Ramon Prego Casal received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of San Cristóbal de la Habana on April 17, 1955 .

On November 13, 1970, Pope Paul VI appointed him . the titular bishop of Vegesela in Numidia and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in Cienfuegos . The head of the Mission of the Holy See in Cuba, Bishop Cesare Zacchi , donated him episcopal ordination on January 14, 1971 ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Cienfuegos, Alfredo Antonio Francisco Müller y San Martín , and the Bishop of Pinar del Río , Manuel Pedro Rodríguez Rozas .

Paul VI appointed him on July 24, 1971. to the Bishop of Cienfuegos-Santa Clara. Pope John Paul II appointed him on April 1, 1995 as the first bishop of Santa Clara.
