The Roman Catholic Diocese of Cienfuegos ( lat. : Dioecesis Centumfocencis ) is an on Cuba situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Cienfuegos .
history
The diocese of Cienfuegos was on February 20, 1903 by Pope Leo XIII. established with the Apostolic Constitution Actum praeclare from cessions of territory of the diocese of San Cristóbal de la Habana and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Santiago de Cuba as a suffragan diocese. On June 30, 1971, the diocese of Cienfuegos was renamed the Diocese of Cienfuegos-Santa Clara . The diocese of Cienfuegos-Santa Clara was divided into the dioceses of Cienfuegos and Santa Clara on April 1, 1995 . On December 5, 1998, the diocese of Cienfuegos was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Camagüey as a suffragan.
