Marcin Oleś (* 1973 in Sosnowiec ) is a Polish bass player and composer . Marcin Oleś and his twin brother Bartłomiej Oleś are among the most interesting musicians of the younger generation in Poland.

biography

In his intensive musical career so far, he has played with important representatives of the international free jazz scene, such as For example: David Murray , Theo Jörgensmann , Ken Vandermark , Erik Friedlander , William Parker , Jean-Luc Cappozzo , Hamid Drake or Herb Robertson .

Marcin Oleś has been playing in the Oleś Jörgensmann Oleś group since 2003 with his brother Bartłomiej and the German clarinetist Theo Jörgensmann . The trio has released two CDs in Poland. The CD Directions was voted “The Best Album Of the Year 2005” by the Polish internet jazz magazine Diapazon . The band has since given concerts in Germany, Poland, France, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia and the Ukraine.
