Marco Böhme (born April 12, 1990 in Leipzig ) is a German politician, environmental activist and elected member of the state parliament in Saxony ( DIE LINKE ).

Life

After training as a business assistant for environmental protection, Marco Böhme graduated from the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt with a bachelor's degree in urban and spatial planning .

He joined the DIE LINKE party in 2008 and is involved in their youth organization, the left youth ['solid] . In the state elections in Saxony in 2014 , he moved into the state parliament on list position 10 of his party as a youth candidate for the left-wing youth [solid '] Saxony. There he is spokesman for climate protection, energy and mobility and has been deputy parliamentary group chairman since 2017. He is also active in many associations and extra-parliamentary initiatives. For example, as a board member at the Ökolöwen Umweltbund Leipzig e. V., as a member of the Climate! Movement Network, Climate Justice Leipzig, the ADFC , the Red Aid or the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation . In addition, he has been an activist in the lignite protests around the coalition at the end of the country for years . In the wake of the end of the terrain protests in 2016 , Frank Heidan, member of the CDU state parliament, called Böhme a terrorist. Heidan's defamation case has been dropped by the public prosecutor's office for Heidan's indemnity .

Marco Böhme runs an open project and parliamentary office in Leipzig's Lindenau district, INTERIM, which has a sister office with linXXnet in the south of Leipzig and serves as a link for extra-parliamentary movements, the party and the interested public.
