Marco Cribari (born July 7, 1985 in Zurich ) is a former Swiss athlete . The sprinter started for the LC Zurich and was Swiss champion several times as well as a multiple participant in major international events. He is also co-owner of the Swiss record of the 4 x 100 meter relay .

Cribari played football until he was 18 , then focused on athletics. At the European Championships in 2006 , he took part in the 200-meter run , where he was a member of the Swiss 4 x 100 meter relay . In 2007 he finished fifth at the U23 European Championships in the 200-meter run and became Swiss champion in the 100-meter run . At the 2007 World Championships , he finished 25th over 200 meters. In 2008 he repeated his success at the Swiss championship over 100 meters. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing , he was eliminated over 200 meters in the run. The following year he became Swiss champion over 200 meters and reached the intermediate run at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin over the same distance . At the end of August of the same year, together with Pascal Mancini , Marc Schneeberger and Reto Amaru Schenkel, he set a new Swiss record for the 4 x 100 meter relay with a time of 38.78 s, which lasted for almost a year. At the end of October 2009, he retired from top-class sport in order to concentrate on his medical studies . But he did not rule out a return to top-class sport. At the end of the year he was voted Swiss Athlete of the Year .
