Marco Giacopuzzi (born 1964 in St. Gallen , Switzerland ) is a German documentary filmmaker and author .

Life

Marco Giacopuzzi studied philosophy , theater studies and journalism in Vienna and Zurich . He then worked as a theater director in Switzerland .

Since 2000 he has worked as an author mainly for Hessischer Rundfunk, but also for ARTE and KiKA .

Today he lives in Offenbach am Main .

Awards

In 2017, he received the Robert Geisendörfer Prize in the Children's TV Prize category for the author's performance "Look in my world", Jon's world .

The episode 223 Malvina, Diaa and Love , broadcast in November 2017 , was scandalized at the beginning of January 2018, especially in the context of the right-wing populist AfD, because of an alleged trivialization of Islamic ideology and then received some media attention. According to the FAZ , the “precise and intimate documentation” is “impressive” and “inherently convincing”, but it has a “fundamental problem” because the broadcaster failed to properly classify it.
