Marco Ilaimaharitra (born July 26, 1995 in Mulhouse ) is a Malagasy - French football player who is under contract with Sporting Charleroi in Belgium .
Career
society
During his youth, Marco Ilaimaharitra played for various clubs in his native Mulhouse . In 2008 he moved to the youth department of the first division club FC Sochaux . At Sochaux he was first used on April 24, 2013 in the game against his home club FC Mulhouse for the reserve of the men's team. Under the new coach Hervé Renard , the defensive midfielder was also considered for the first team in the same year. After he was allowed to sit on the bench against Paris Saint-Germain on matchday 17 , he made his starting line-up debut a week later on December 14, 2013 in the 1-0 defeat against OGC Nice over the full 90 minutes. On February 28, 2014, the young player signed a professional contract until 2017. Ilaimaharitras team could not prevent relegation in the 2013/14 season and had to go to Ligue 2 . Even under the new coach Olivier Echouafni , the midfielder was considered for the first team in the 2014/15 season and reached tenth place in the table with the club.
In the summer of 2017 he moved to Belgium to join first division Sporting Charleroi , where he signed a four-year contract.
National team
Marco Ilaimaharitra has been considered five times for the French U-19 national team . 2015 he won the French U-20 team , the Tournament of Toulon . On November 11, 2017, he made his debut for the Malagasy national team in a 1-1 draw against the Comoros in a friendly . In 2019 he took part in the Africa Cup of Nations with Madagascar and scored his first international goal in the group game against Burundi with a 1-0 winner. He gave Madagascar its first victory in an Africa Cup.
