Truck killer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The truck killer was a criminal case on highways in Hesse and North Rhine-Westphalia , where a perpetrator raped four women between 2003 and 2006 and killed three of them. As this was Marco M. (* 1978 in Haiger determined).

Murders

  • November 15, 2003 - Nicole U., called "Sammy" (32 years), Cologne. The prostitute from Oberhausen was found strangled with a half-dressed torso in a bush on the premises of a hardware store in Dormagen . The victim had numerous cuts. The prostitute worked 33 kilometers away on the street prostitute on the Cologne military ring, where she was most likely approached by her murderer. Later interrogation revealed that Marco M. became the father of a son immediately after the murder and described this day as "one of the most beautiful in his life".
  • October 19, 2004 - Asta J. (25 years), Moers. The Polish prostitute reported that she was strangled by a man and almost cut open with a knife. The act took place on the A 57 motorway near Moers . She survived the attack and told the police that the attacker had noticeable scars on his body.
  • November 1, 2005 - Aneta B. (31 years old), Dillenburg . The undressed corpse of the Polish woman was found on the A 45 motorway near Siegen - Eisern . Previously, the woman, who was overwhelmed in a phone booth, was missing for several days. Aneta B. was presumably abused by the perpetrator for several hours in an empty house in Haiger.
  • July 8, 2006 - Anna S. (18 years), Kassel . The student was attacked on her way home and strangled by the perpetrator. Sexual acts occurred on the corpse, which was then deposited at a rest area on the A 49 motorway between Kassel and Fritzlar . DNA traces of Anna S. finally led to the arrest of Marco M. After a short time he made a comprehensive confession during the police interrogation.

Perpetrator

Marco M. grew up with two sisters in Haiger, Hesse . The boy is described as a typical “mother's boy” who often got into arguments with his father. He went to secondary school and then did an apprenticeship. After working for the railway, he became a truck driver for a forwarding company. In 2003 M. married and had one child. It later became known that the couple had relationship problems and that Marco M. frequently visited prostitutes. In addition, there should have been increased financial problems and alcohol abuse. The two separated. On August 30, 2006, Marco M. was arrested in Haiger by the Soko "Eisern" in his parents' house. During the subsequent interrogation, the perpetrator made a full confession . He was also identified by surviving victim Asta J.

motive

During the trial before the Limburg Regional Court , an attempt was made to determine the motive. All that was known was the fact that it was to be found in the murderer's disturbed sex life. The investigators also asked themselves why the murders had happened about a year apart, why he had sexual intercourse with the women partly before the death of the women and partly afterwards and why he threw the victims away like an object after "using" them . According to the testimony of one of his victims, the prostitute Asta J., who was attacked by him on October 19, 2004 on the street in Cologne, he behaved “like an animal” towards her. Marco M. is said to have tried to strangle her with a rope shortly after getting in. She was able to escape, but was caught again by the physically superior man and placed in the truck's bunk, handcuffed. The rape occurred at a bus stop near Neukirchen . The perpetrator wounded her with a knife, but Asta J. managed to hide in a nearby corn field. When Marco M. was asked about this, he replied, "He also doesn't know what had come over him". He showed no remorse towards his victims. Prosecutors believed that the only thing that mattered to him was having a body he could dispose of.

accusation

The charges are murder (murder to satisfy the sex drive), attempted murder, assault , deprivation of liberty and rape in a particularly serious case. The perpetration was proven by numerous circumstantial evidence. The victim's DNA was found on the perpetrator's knife and gloves . In addition, jewelry from the murdered women would have been in his possession. The crime scenes near motorways made the police relatively quick to realize that the perpetrator was most likely a truck driver. The special commission "Eisern" was not allowed to use information from the toll database of the company Toll Collect for data reasons. In 2007 Marco M. was sentenced to life imprisonment with subsequent preventive detention by the Limburg Regional Court. In the grounds of the judgment, the pronounced sex drive of the perpetrator and his unprecedented brutality in the act are cited. Acts that would go beyond the imagination of the court. “It was always just about dominating the body of women, dead or alive. Their appearance was irrelevant, he was not necrophilous, he also felt no satisfaction when killing, ”said the verdict. An expert attested him low intelligence and lack of empathy, but still considered him fully culpable, which had a major impact on the sentence. "The deeds were prepared, he proceeded according to plan and did not leave anything to chance," said the presiding judge.

reception

In January 2017, the WDR took up the case in the first episode of the documentary series WDR-Crime: The Profile of Evil and reported on the investigation.
