Marco Neumann

Marco Neumann (born March 1, 1988 in Magdeburg ) is a former German rower .

Life

At the Junior World Championships in Amsterdam in 2006 , he achieved a silver medal in a four-man without a helmsman . In Glasgow he finished second with eighth at the U23 World Cup in 2007 .

The 1.98 meter tall Neumann took part in the 2008 Olympic Games . The one active in SC Magdeburg was assigned as a substitute and then, after Toni Seifert and Filip Adamski could not compete due to illness, he was used in the semi-finals of the four-man without a helmsman. With third place in the semifinals qualification for the final was achieved. Due to an illness, Neumann could not take part in the final run.

The European Championships in Athens in the same year he finished with a fourth place in eighth. Neumann also took part in the U23 World Championships in 2009 and won silver in eighth in Ratschitz, Czech Republic . In 2010 he achieved gold in eighth place at the U21 World Cup in Brest .

At the European Championships in 2011 in Plovdiv , Bulgaria , he also started in eighth place and achieved sixth place.

Neumann is a trained sports and fitness clerk and lives in Magdeburg.

In 2008 Neumann was allowed to register in the Golden Book of the City of Magdeburg in recognition of his participation in the Olympic Games in 2008 and 2010 for winning the U21 World Championship .
