Marco Ritzberger (born December 27, 1986 ) is a former Liechtenstein soccer player . He is 1.89 m tall, weighs 83 kg, has both feet and could be used in many ways as a defensive all-rounder. In addition to his defensive strengths, he had offensive qualities. He wore the jersey with the number 21 for both FC Vaduz and the Liechtenstein national football team .
Career
Ritzberger's football career began in the junior division of FC Vaduz . Most of his youth, however, Ritzberger performed his football services for the youth teams of the Liechtenstein Football Association ( LFV ). He has been under contract with FC Vaduz since spring 2006. With the signing of this contract, Ritzberger achieved the status of a professional football player for the first time. His career highlights so far are the winning goal on August 24, 2006 for a 2-1 home win in the second leg of the second UEFA Cup qualifying round against FC Basel and winning the 2008 Challenge League championship with FC Vaduz. In 2012 he ended his playing career here.

Milestones
The then 18-year-old made his Challenge League debut on December 4, 2005 at home against AC Bellinzona . Ritzberger scored his first goal in the Challenge League on March 15, 2006 in the away game against FC Baulmes . He made his first appearance in the Super League - at the age of 21 - on July 20, 2008 against FC Luzern . The first goal in the Super League came Ritzberger on December 7, 2008, when he marked the 1-0 winning goal in the game against Neuchâtel Xamax . In the senior national team, Ritzberger made his debut against the Netherlands on September 3, 2004 in Utrecht at the age of 17 .
