The Marcoux Nunatak is a 1530 m high nunatak on the Oates coast in the north of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Wilson Hills it rises approximately halfway between the Schmidt Nunatakkern and the Poorman Peak near the head end of the Manna Glacier .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1963. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1970 after John S. Marcoux (* 1931), aircraft mechanic of the VX-6 flight squadron Antarctic winter 1967 at McMurdo Station .
