Marcus Bleasdale
Marcus Bleasdale (* 1968 in Great Britain ) is a photojournalist who came from an Irish family.
Life
Bleasdale lived for over twelve years in what is now the Democratic Republic of the Congo , formerly Zaïre , during the difficult period after Mobutu . His two books on the Congo and the plundering of the country's natural resources earned him a number of honors. His photos, including those of the genocide in Darfur and the neighboring country of Chad , attracted worldwide attention. In 2010 he accompanied the Orchester Symphonique Kimbanguiste in its work through the Congolese capital Kinshasa .
Bleasdale lives with his wife in Oslo , where he is the founder and employee of the photo agency VII Photo Agency .
