Marcus Steegmann (born February 4, 1981 in Cologne ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

The center forward began his career at Blau-Weiß Königsdorf before joining the youth team of 1. FC Köln in 1993 . From there he first played his way into the second team in Cologne before he went to Hamburger SV in 2003 , where he was also used in the second team in the Regionalliga Nord and moved back to North Rhine-Westphalia after one season.

At his new club Borussia Dortmund , he also played his first Bundesliga game when he was substituted on for SC Freiburg on November 20, 2004 . There should be four more missions for the first team. In addition, Steegmann mainly played for the second team. In 2006 he moved to the Regionalliga Süd for VfR Aalen . He became a regular player in the following two years and scored a total of 18 goals.

From summer 2008 Steegmann played in the third division for SpVgg Unterhaching and scored his first third division goal on matchday three against the Stuttgarter Kickers . In total, the striker was able to score eight goals for the Munich suburbs in two seasons. In the summer of 2010, Marcus Steegmann moved within the league to TuS Koblenz .

For the 2011/12 season, Steegmann moved to the third division promoted SV Darmstadt 98 . There Steegmann became a regular in attack and scored ten goals in 33 third division games. In his second season he only got five goals.

After his contract expired, Steegmann moved to the regional league team FC Viktoria Köln for the 2013/14 season . After four goals in 14 first half games, he only made nine goalless games due to an injury due to a torn knee ligament in the second half of the season. He ended his career in the summer of 2015. In September of the same year he was reactivated due to an injury misery. On January 30, 2016 Steegmann finally ended his playing career at Viktoria Köln.
