Marek Štěch (born January 28, 1990 in Prague ) is a Czech football goalkeeper who has been under contract with Luton Town since 2017 .
Club career
Štěch started playing football at Sparta Prague at the age of twelve. In the summer of 2006, the goalkeeper moved to West Ham United . With the Londoners, the Czech first played in the junior team. In July 2008, Štěch signed a professional contract until 2013.
In March 2009, Štěch was loaned to fourth division club Wycombe Wanderers . The goalkeeper made his debut for the Wanderers on March 14, 2009 at 3: 3 at Brentford FC .
An injury forced Štěch to return to London. In December 2009, the goalkeeper was loaned out to Bournemouth AFC . For the fourth division club Štěch made his debut on December 12, 2009 in a 0-5 defeat against FC Morecambe .
On August 24, 2010 , he made his debut for the West Ham United first team in a 1-0 League Cup victory over Oxford United .
In October 2011 he went on loan to Yeovil Town , where he replaced the injured Jed Steer. He only came to five missions there and then returned to West Ham.
On February 24, 2012, he was loaned to Leyton Orient for the remainder of the season .
The following season he received a two-year contract with Yeovil Town. In 2014 he returned to Sparta Prague.
National team
Štěch was used 18 times in the Czech U-17 team. On March 29, 2009 he made his debut in the game against South Korea in Alexandria in the Czech U-21 national team .
On May 13, 2014 he was appointed to the Czech national team for the two upcoming international matches against Finland and Austria . While he was still on the bench on May 21, 2014, he was in the goal of his home country for the full length of the game in the 2-1 defeat by Austria on June 3, 2014.
