Marek Ast

Marek Ast (born September 27, 1958 in Zielona Góra ) is a Polish politician , local politician, legal advisor , since 2006 member of the Sejm in the V and VI , VII . and VIII . Election term and former voivode of the Lubusz Voivodeship .

He graduated from the Law and Administration Faculty of the University of Wroclaw . In 1990 he became a legal advisor. Before that, he had worked as a teacher since 1984, first at the state children's home in Wschowa and from 1986 to 1989 at the vocational school in Wschowa. From 1991 to 2005 he was mayor of Szlichtyngowa , from 1998 to 2002 he sat for the Akcja Wyborcza Solidarność (Electoral Action Solidarność - AWS) in the Sejmik of the Lubusz Voivodeship (Lubuskie).

He belonged to the Porozumienie Centrum (Center Agreement - PC) until he entered the Prawo i Sprawiedliwość (Law and Justice - PiS). In the 2005 Sejm elections , he ran on the list of PiS for the constituency of Zielona Góra, but was not elected. From January 5 to August 21, 2006 he was voivode for Lubuskie. He resigned from this function when he as substitutes for the Mayor of Warsaw appointed Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz moved to the Sejm.

In the parliamentary elections in 2007 he was again a member of parliament with 21,184 votes. He is chairman of the Sejm commission for ethnic and national minorities and a member of the commission for constitutional responsibility.
