Marek Penksa (born August 4, 1973 in Veľký Krtíš ) is a former Slovak football player .

Career

In the club

Marek Penksa played in his youth for his hometown club Baník Veľký Krtíš . In 1986 he moved to Dukla Banská Bystrica . In May 1990 he made his debut in the 1st Czechoslovak League at the age of 16.

Eintracht Frankfurt signed the striker talent in 1992 and loaned it to Dynamo Dresden in the 1993/94 season . In Dresden, the name Penksa is primarily associated with a scene from the 1-0 win against Schalke 04 in April 1994, in which he briefly sat on the ball in the final phase before the flank in order to dup his opponent. However, the referee saw a delay in the game and punished her with a yellow card. At Dynamo, Penksa was able to set some accents, so that the Frankfurters brought him back with great hopes after a season. But after his return to Frankfurt , Penksa was unable to prevail against the competition at Eintracht and moved to the Grazer AK in January 1996 .

After only one season, the Slovak went to Rapid Vienna , where he had his most successful time. In 110 league games he scored 18 goals. At the beginning of 2000 he moved to DSV Leoben for six months , and for the 2000/01 season he was signed by the Stuttgarter Kickers . After only ten games and two goals, the 1.70 m short striker moved on to the then Hungarian champions Dunaferr SE in February 2001 and scored ten times in 16 games. 2001/02 he got five goals in 18 games, whereupon he was committed in February 2002 by Ferencváros Budapest for 60,000 euros. For the Hungarian top club Penksa was used in 72 games in which he scored four goals.

In the summer of 2005, Penksa moved to the Polish club Wisła Krakow . In July 2007 he signed a one-year contract with his former club Dynamo Dresden ; he received the shirt number 99 for the regional league season 2007/08 and managed with the Dresden team the qualification for the new single-track 3rd league .

In July 2008 Penksa moved to the Slovak first division club 1. FC Tatran Prešov .

In the national team

For the Slovak national soccer team Penksa made seven games in 1994 and 1995. He also played four times for the Czechoslovak U-21 national team .

Others

  • On the 32nd matchday of the 1992/93 season, the Frankfurt coach Horst Heese Penksa changed in the 21st minute of the game for the 'soccer German' Slobodan Komljenović , which together with Jay-Jay Okocha , Kachaber Zchadadse and Anthony Yeboah, four foreigners were on the field - one more than the DFB statutes allowed. Heese noticed his mistake and replaced Penksa after only four minutes, but the game was scored 2-0 points and 2-0 goals for Bayer 05 Uerdingen .
  • Penksa also became known for his role after goals, which is especially remembered by Rapid fans as the legendary "Penksarolle".
