Margarete Langkammer , also Margarethe Langkammer , pseudonym Richard Nordmann (* August 18, 1866 in Vienna as Marianna Margaretha Kolberg ; † October 5, 1922 there ) was a German actress and writer .

Life

After her education in a Munich boarding school, she married the actor and playwright Karl Langkammer in 1883 . From 1885 on, she undertook a two-year tour of America with him, performing at the McVickers Theater in Chicago as a soubrette in antics and operettas.

In 1889/90 she played in the Munich ensemble and then in Kassel . After a guest performance in Leipzig , she turned down an engagement at the German Volkstheater in Vienna and in future only worked in literature.

She wrote for the Wiener Extrablatt, the Neue Wiener Tageblatt and the Neue Freie Presse . Under the pseudonym Richard Nordmann she wrote socially critical plays, later she also wrote short stories. In 1904 she received the Bauernfeld Prize for her countess novel . After revealing her true identity as the author, her sole authorship has been partially questioned.
