Margarete Ziegler-Raschdorf

Margarete Ziegler-Raschdorf (born August 6, 1951 in Fulda ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and former member of the Hessian state parliament . Since March 2009 she has been the state representative for expellees and repatriates.

education and profession

After graduating from high school in 1970 and doing a pharmaceutical internship in Fulda from 1970 to 1972 with the qualification of pharmaceutical pre-exams, she studied law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn from 1972 to 1978 . The legal traineeship in Würzburg , Schweinfurt and Bamberg from 1978 to 1981 was followed by the second state examination in Munich in 1981 . Between 1981 and 1983 she worked as a freelance lawyer in Düsseldorf and Fulda.

Margarete Ziegler-Raschdorf is Catholic, married and has three children. Her parents are expellees from Upper Silesia.

Margarete Ziegler-Raschdorf has been a member of the CDU since 1989 and from 1989 to 1991 a member of the board of the CDU City Association of Fulda (from 1991 to 1999 deputy chairwoman). From 1991 to 1995 she was chairwoman of the CDU women's union in the CDU city association of Fulda.

She has been active in local politics since 1993 as a member of the Fulda city council, where she has been deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group of the Fulda city council since March 2006.

Ziegler-Raschdorf had been a member of the state parliament since February 3, 2004. There she was chairwoman of the legal committee and member of the petitions committee, subcommittee for expellees, resettlers, refugees and reparations as well as the hardship commission at the Hessian Minister of the Interior and for sport since December 6th 2005 . In the state elections in Hesse in 2009 , she was unable to win a mandate and left the state parliament.

In March 2009, the Hessian Prime Minister Roland Koch appointed her as the State Commissioner of the Hessian State Government for expellees and repatriates. The post is directly assigned to the Hessian Minister for Labor, Family and Health .

In 2019 she was awarded the Silesian Cross by the Silesian Landsmannschaft.
