Margaretha Obenaus

Margaretha Obenaus (born September 26, 1931 in Judendorf-Straßengel , Styria ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ).

Life

Margaretha Obenaus first attended elementary school in Judendorf-Straßengel before moving to a primary school in the Graz district of Gösting . Later, they visited the main and trade school also in Graz and put in 1949, the state examination in stenography and typewriting from.

As early as 1947 she found work at the Styrian Chamber of Labor and Employees in Graz. Here she worked as a typist in the internal auditing department. From 1960 to 1966 she was a works councilor . She retired in 1987 .

From 1963, Obenaus became politically active as deputy chairwoman of the SPÖ Gösting. From 1976 to 1987 she headed that party committee. From 1975 to 1987 she was a member of the State Women's Committee of the SPÖ Styria.

In June 1976 the Landtag of Styria sent her to Vienna as a member of the Federal Council . As a member of the Austrian Chamber of States, she worked for over ten years until December 1986.
