Margarethe Krojer

Margarethe “Grete” Krojer , née Dragschitz, (born March 31, 1954 in Gols ) is an Austrian politician ( Greens ) and AHS teacher. From 2000 to 2010 she was a member of the Burgenland Landtag and club chairwoman of the Greens in Burgenland .

education and profession

Krojer attended elementary school in Frauenkirchen and Wulkaprodersdorf before switching to the sports high school in Wiener Neustadt . After graduating from high school in 1972, Krojer studied history and physical education at the University of Vienna . Krojer completed her studies in 1977 with the academic degree Mag. Phil. from. Then she worked as an AHS teacher for history, political education and physical education at the BG / BRG Eisenstadt . Krojer has been a health educator since 1994.

politics

Krojer has been a local councilor in Wulkaprodersdorf since 1992 and was elected chairwoman of the association “Representatives of Burgenland's interests” in 1994. Before that she was a member of the citizens' initiative “Against Toxic Waste” in Siegendorf between 1989 and 1995 . Krojer was elected to the Burgenland Landtag on December 28, 2000, where she assumed the office of club chairwoman and was most recently the area spokesperson for energy, women, the environment and transport. In the run-up to the state elections in Burgenland in 2010, she announced that she no longer wanted to run for first place on the Green state list and was subsequently ranked second in the state nomination of the Greens. After the Greens lost one of their two seats in the state elections, Krojer resigned from the state parliament on June 24, 2010. From 1996 to 2006, Krojer was state spokesperson for the Burgenland Greens.

Private

Krojer was born as the daughter of the railway worker Johann Dragschitz from Wulkaprodersdorf. She grew up speaking German and Croatian as her mother tongue and is married.
