Margit Palme

Margit Palme (born August 11, 1939 in Amstetten ) is an Austrian painter and art teacher .

Life, education and work

Her husband was the Austrian painter and draftsman Peter Kubovsky . Their daughter was born in 1958.

After studying at the art school of the city of Linz with Alfons Ortner, she came into contact with abstract lithography, etching and aquatint through Alfred Billy and completed a lithography seminar with Slavi Soucek at the Salzburg Summer Academy in 1962 and became a member of the artists' association MAERZ in Linz .

From 1973 to 1999 she taught at the textile master class at the University of Artistic and Industrial Design in Linz. Her studio is located in the listed Kremsmünster monastery house in the old town of Linz.

Works

The works created by Margit Palme mainly include etchings and aquatintas ( etchings ).

Palme has also taken part in exhibitions at home and abroad several times. Individual works were purchased by the Federal Ministry for Education and Art, the State of Upper Austria, the City of Linz, the Lentos Art Museum in Linz, the City of Klagenfurt and the State of Tyrol. Numerous works are in private hands.
