Peter Kubovsky

Peter Kubovsky (born December 4, 1930 in Lundenburg , South Moravia ; † January 20, 2014 in Linz , Upper Austria ) was an Austrian draftsman and painter .

Life

In 1945 Peter Kubovsky came to Zell am Moos in Upper Austria as a war refugee , where he initially worked in a sawmill . At the age of 17 he began his studies at the art school of the city of Linz with Alfons Ortner . After graduating in 1953, he worked as a freelance artist in Linz. His wife was the Austrian painter and art teacher Margit Palme . Their daughter was born in 1958.

In 1963 he was appointed lecturer at the University for Artistic and Industrial Design in Linz in the master class for painting and graphics , where he worked from 1973 as a university assistant and from 1981 as a senior assistant with the professional title of professor. From 1995 he was associate professor . and shaped numerous subsequent artistic personalities in Upper Austria such as Robert Oltay and Martin Staufner . In 1996 Peter Kubovsky retired .

Kubovsky played a formative role in the artists' association MAERZ . The major themes of his works included nature, depictions of cities, landscapes and architecture, and studies of the human body.
