Margrét Rún (Guðmundsdóttir Kraus ; born November 15, 1960 in Reykjavík ) is a German film director ( BVR ), screenwriter , film editor and producer .

Life

After ten years of piano and law studies, Rún became an editor for daily and weekly newspapers and a freelance worker for the national radio in Iceland . She participated in the organization of international film festivals in Iceland. 1986–1996 Rún studied at the University of Television and Film Munich , Department III Film and TV Drama with Wolfgang Längfeld with the final grade 1. From 1993 to 1997 Rún worked as a screenplay editor , news cutter at BR , freelance editor for RTL Munich Live , Film trailer cut for Kabel 1 , tm3 and Taurusfilm. Since 1989 she has been a scriptwriter, producer, director and editor for run film production in Munich. She is the CEO of the Freundeskreis Wolfgang Längfeld eV, headquartered in Munich, and from 2014 she was a core member of the Pro Quote director and co-founder of Pro Quote Film . Since 2017 she has been the project manager of the diversity report of the Bundesverband Regie .

Rún is married to Franz Kraus , ex-board member and supervisory board of ARRI AG . She is the mother of three children.
