Marián Cisár (born February 25, 1978 in Bratislava ) is a former Slovak ice hockey player who was active during his career for the Nashville Predators from the National Hockey League .
Career
Cisàr began his career in the offspring of HC Slovan Bratislava , where he played for the junior team from the 1994/95 season. In addition, a year later he completed 19 league games for the professional team in the extra league and scored nine points scorer. During the NHL Entry Draft in 1996 , he was selected by those in charge of the Nashville Predators in the second round at a total of 37th position. In the summer of 1996, the right-handed player moved to the Canadian Junior League Western Hockey League , where he was henceforth under contract for the Spokane Chiefs .
There the Slovak was one of the team's best scorers and scored 130 points in 149 games. After two years, he left the Chiefs in 1998 and joined the Milwaukee Admirals , the Nashville Predators' farm team at the time . In the 1999/2000 season he completed his first three NHL games for the Nashville Predators. In 2001, Cisár suffered a hip injury and was only able to stand on the ice in 12 games. After he was only 70 times in the NHL in the following two years, he forced a move back to Europe. This was followed by a brief interlude in the highest Czech league, the Extraliga , at HC Znojemští Orli , before the offensive player signed a contract with the Finnish club Lukko Rauma during the 2002/03 season . With the club, he placed ninth after the main round and thus missed qualifying for the play-offs.
For the 2003/04 season , the then 25-year-old moved to the German Ice Hockey League for the Nürnberg Ice Tigers , with whom he was able to reach the play-off quarter-finals. Cisár completed a total of 45 games and scored 36 points scorer. He was also nominated by fans and journalists for the DEL All-Star Game 2004 in Ingolstadt , where he laced up the skates for the DEL All-Star Team. The right-shooter also won the best sprinter competition. There he ran a lap in 13.10 seconds and was 0.17 and 0.48 seconds faster than Eduard Lewandowski and Lasse Kopitz .
In the 2004/05 season he was under contract with league rivals Hannover Scorpions before ending his active ice hockey career in the summer of 2005 at the age of 27.
