Visitation of the Virgin Mary (Reisgang)
The Catholic Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in Reisgang , a district of the Upper Bavarian community of Bernbeuren in the Weilheim-Schongau district , was built in 1659 and expanded in 1844. That of the Visitation consecrated chapel on the northwestern outskirts of the village next to the Turks Bach is a protected monument .
An inscription on the predella of the altar says that Andreas Welz, a linen weaver in Reisgang, had the chapel built.
The small, simple plastered building has a strongly drawn-in polygonal choir . The west tower with a curved dome was added in the last quarter of the 19th century. The transverse rectangular nave has a flat roof. The wooden ceiling in the choir has a monochrome panel painting of the Visitation of Mary from around 1659.
The altar, framed by columns , dates from the time it was built; in the middle part there is a structure with a painting of the Visitation of Mary between statues of the apostles.
