The Annunciation is the Catholic parish church of Leeder in Upper Bavaria .

description

The exposed brick tower on the Kirchberg comes from the first half of the 15th century, the nave was renewed around 1740 by the bricklayer and plasterer Stephan Socher from Denklingen. The original plans of the Füssen master builder Johann Georg Fischer were too expensive for the Augsburg bishopric . The width of the nave with a narrower choir corresponded to the width of the old church building. The new building was consecrated on Laurentius Day (August 10th) 1742. The furnishings were not finished until 1752 and come from a workshop in Wessobrunn. The stucco with its asymmetrical ornament sequences refers to Abraham Baader .

The ceiling paintings were created in 1747, the main paintings relate in terms of content to the Rosary Brotherhood , which was financially involved in the construction of the new church. The work was carried out by the Unterdießen painter Joseph Andreas Mörz. One of the special features of his paintings in Leeder are the ten cartouche frescoes in the nave illustrating the Magnificat ; for this kind of pictorial representation of this hymn of praise there should be few examples in the baroque ceiling painting.

The altar painting comes from Johann Baptist Baader from today's district of Lechmühlen, who was known in the region as Lechhansel . Baader was just returning from a trip to Italy when he began in 1749 with the main altarpiece in Mariae Annunciation. In 1752 he created the side altar leaves of St. Anna, Mary teaching reading and St. Joseph as patron saint .

The altars were changed several times in the 19th century, only parts of the baroque altar structures have been preserved. All figures in the main altar belong to the original figure decorations of the 18th century. These are seated "cornice angels", putti, a God-Father figure and the diocese saints "St. Ulrich and St. Afra ”.

The church was last renovated in 1998/99; the renovation had become necessary due to cracks in the nave.
