Maria (Blois)
Maria von Avesnes (1226-1241 attested) was Countess of Blois and Dunois (formerly Châteaudun ) from 1231 .
parents
She was the heir to her parents Walter II of Avesnes and Margaret of Blois . After her mother's death in 1230, she inherited the counties of Blois and Châteaudun from Marias, the latter was henceforth called the county of Dunois. Her inauguration not only marked the end of the House of Blois in the Loire Valley , but also the end of the political importance of the County of Blois in France. She herself played no role in French politics. Through her father, she had inheritance claims to his dominions Avesnes , Guise , Condé , Leuze , Landrecies and Trélon . However, since she died before her father, Maria's eldest son Johann inherited him.
Marriage and offspring
She married Hugo I of Châtillon († April 9, 1248) in April 1226 , who became Count of Blois through this marriage. In 1240 he inherited the county of Saint-Pol . Your children were:
