Maria Johanna Elisabeth Landrock (born July 5, 1923 in Berlin-Köpenick , † 1992 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen ) was a German actress and voice actress .

Life

Maria Landrock studied at the State Drama School in Berlin and received several engagements at theaters there. In 1939 she made her film debut as a replacement for the sick Kristina Söderbaum in Veit Harlan's Pedro is supposed to hang . When the protracted production was released in 1941, Maria Landrock had already played another leading role in From First Marriage . It appeared on July 18, 1944, when SS troop support was in Auschwitz . By the end of the Second World War , she was successful with appearances in films and played alongside Willy Fritsch ( Die chaste beloved ) and Emil Jannings ( Old Heart Becomes Young Again ). After 1945 her film roles were rare and small, like in the international production Decision Before Dawn (1951). She was also rarely seen on television, such as in the series The Fifth Column and in three episodes of the ZDF crime series Der Kommissar .

Maria Landrock also worked extensively in dubbing from 1949 until shortly before her death. She lent her voice to internationally known colleagues such as Gina Lollobrigida ( fanfan, the hussar ), Sophia Loren (it's a shame you're a rascal ), Jeanne Moreau ( behind closed doors ) and Viveca Lindfors ( greed for gold ).
