Maria Stenz (* Maria Mikkelsen Sørensen, August 16, 1940 in Gentofte in the Danish municipality of the Hovedstaden region ) is a Danish actress , singer , theater director , theater director and radio player teller .

Career

Stenz is the daughter of the Danish entrepreneur John Mikkelsen Sorensen († 1981) and his wife, the pharmacist Karen Parner († 1991). After finishing school, she began her career as an actress and singer at Det Lille Teater in Copenhagen . From 1968 she then worked at the children's theater. Stenz has also published some audiobooks on children's books on music cassettes and records . She also appeared for a long time on Danish radio and on television for children, including the program Legestue (playroom) with Lasse Lunderskov and in many other radio plays with Peter Kitter and Svend Bjerre . In 1972 she took part in the program Goddag og farvel (Guten Tag und Auf Wiedersehen), but then switched to the Danish radio program Dansktoppen of the DAB program P4 from Danmarks Radio . In 1973 the release of the song Hvor er alle drømmene du drønte (Where are all the dreams you dreamed) was a great success and made Stenz popular all over Denmark.

Since then, Stenz has worked on various musical genres, such as folk , hit and pop music , but also on some shows and at the theater. However, since the 1980s she stopped singing Danish pop songs and worked mostly in the theater . From the mid-1970s in Denmark, she played at Bådteatret , Hvidovre Teater and Café Teatret in Copenhagen, where she had a large and varied repertoire. From 1989 she worked with Brigitte Kolerus in the theater administration of Teatret ved Sorte Hest in the Copenhagen district of Vesterbro . After Kolerus' death she continued her work alone as a theater director . For a transitional period she was a member of Statens Teaterråd (National Theater Council).

As a film actress, Stenz played in several Danish film and television productions .

Maria Stenz has been married to the journalist Jens Nauntofte since January 27, 1982 .
