Maria Trautmann (musician)

Maria Trautmann (* 1990 in Berlin ) is a German jazz and improvisation musician ( trombone ) and dramatist (text, director).

Live and act

After studying music at the Berlin City West music school with Sören Fischer and Julia Hülsmann, Trautmann studied jazz trombone at the Folkwang University of the Arts with Ansgar Striepens from 2011 to 2017 . During his studies, the first groups such as Pottrait and Botticelli's Baby and their debut albums emerged. Together with Maika Küster , she founded the pop band (Wir had was mit) Björn in 2015 , who released their album Oh What Pretty Thing in 2017 . Since 2015 she has also been part of the large formation The Dorf , with whom two albums were created by 2020; with The Dorf she received the WDR-Jazzpreis (honorary award) in 2020 . She was also active as a theater maker.
